Welcome to the Crew 357 website!

Dear Youths and Parents, We are Crew 357, officially chartered by the Massachusetts Rifle Association in Woburn and part of the Venturing program since 2015. Venturing is a Scouting program oriented towards older teens. Similar to the Boy Scouts, the program is run by the BSA and thus has essentially the same objectives. A major difference between Boy Scouts and Venturing is that Venturing is organized into crews rather than troops. A crew tends to be much smaller than Boy Scout troops and usually each crew is based on an activity. This crew, crew 357, is centered around shooting sports. As a crew, our goals are to foster a healthy respect for firearms, develop our shooting skills, and promote Scouting values. We hold meetings every few weeks at the Mass Rifle Association range where we learn about gun safety, shoot guns, and plan outing trips. The shooting club we are hosted at has a variety of ranges and shooting activities available, including trap, clays, long range rifle shooting, pistol shooting, and archery. We also plan on going on a few trips throughout the year. The benefit of being in Venturing is that we are much less restricted than in Boy Scouts. One of these benefits are that we are allowed to use a larger variety of firearms, including pistols. Due to having more freedom in Venturing, we possess many more opportunities in terms of possible trips and activities. Some trips we could potentially go on are trips to gun shows, camping trips to New Hampshire, and high adventure trips. Our small crew size allows us to do whatever the crew members want to do. If any mature scouts aged 14-18 or young adult leaders(male or female) aged 18-21 are interested in joining, please email us. Yours in Scouting, Jeffrey, Raymond, Brendan and Evan Founders of Crew 357

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We typically meet bimonthly on the second and fourth Friday evenings of the month at the Massachusetts Rifle Association in Woburn Massachusetts. Feel free to bring a friend if they are interested in joining the crew, as always new members are encouraged and always welcome, we also enjoy parents that are involved in shooting sports as well. We will check our uniforms for the appropriate patches so we present well to the public, if you don't know just bring the uniform and patches and we can help you put them on. Your mom won't have to guess where they go. Questions email us by clicking on the "Contact us" on the left or by calling our committee chair, Tom Puschak at 781 248-7191.

Posted on Oct 28 2018 - 11:25pm

Come one come all bring friend or parent, if you want to.
This Friday, October 26th at 6:00 pm, the Crew and any new interested youths will be meeting in MRA's classroom (Rifle Range Road, 290 Rear Salem Street, Woburn MA 01801) to have new members see what we are all about. Don't be shy we encourage interested youths to participate. Parents are welcome too, there is even time for those interested in helping manage the brass and range.
We will help you get the paperwork out of the way. Bring a check for dues if you want to get that out of the way. Yes we have an account with some seed money in it from some local troops.
We will develop this years schedule and choice of events.
Organize our camping trip.
Eat Pizza for dinner.
Check our Uniforms for the appropriate patches so we present well to the public, if you don't know just bring the uniform and patches and we can help you put them on. Your mom won't have to guess where they go.
Review gun safety and club rules. Talk about guns and see what gun you might want to share with us. Feel free to bring a gun to shoot and share with the appropriate ammunition so we all can shoot a few rounds.
We will shoot at the end of the meeting. We want this to be how we end each meeting. We want you all to learn and experience a few rounds and have a blast doing so in a safe controlled environment.
Questions email us by "Contact us" or by calling our committee chair, Tom Puschak at 781 248-7191.
